Taco Bell Vs Subway
The other day I saw an advertisement for Taco Bell Promoting a weight loss menu. I thought to myself,” Wow this is funny!” Taco Bell had gone to the lowest of all means. Here’s the thing though. Taco Bell obviously is attempting to get a piece of the marketing share when it comes to the weight loss and New Year’s resolution people.
I’m an entrepreneur so I can appreciate what companies do to increase revenues and profits within their company. I do however think it’s funny that Taco Bell is seducing America into thinking that their food is healthy. It may not be healthy but Taco Bell is a great late a night treat after a long night of drinking – which I would know nothing about.

I don’t think it’s really that healthy regardless of what kind of twist you put on it.
What’s really funny though is that they are copying Subway and how Subway promotes their weight loss advertisements. Taco Bell now has a girl that seems to be acting like Jarod (Subway’s main weight loss guy) in showing her pants that use to fit her and what she looks like now after eating nothing but Taco Bell all day long.
I’m sorry but I just think this is kind of fun to watch. I’ll be curious to see how Taco Bell is doing with this advertising in a few months. They probably do pretty well because I feel the American population is pretty easy to convince when it comes to things like this.
Here’s a fast tip marketing lesson. No question that Taco Bell is tapping into a market that is there, which I’m sure they’ll make money on. My question to you would be is there a way for you to tie your product and service into a marketing idea that already exists so you can find a new customer base or expand your current customer list.
So the next time you see someone walking down the street that you saw a few months back, and they are looking a little leaner than they did the last time you saw them…
You’ll know they were eating Taco Bell diet menu everyday ; )
